EDC Announces Cavalcade of Music-Makers for 2024 Festival

EDC (also known as Electric Daisy Carnival if you’re elderly and not cool) has announced its 2024 line-up.

The annual festival—part electronic music dance jam, part revealing outfit fashion show and part Molly convention—will be held May 17-19, 2024 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The line-up for EDC is a who’s-who of “Who’s that?” Let’s go, fellow youths!

EDC is produced by Insomniac. Insomniac’s symbol is an owl, because owls stay up all night and can see in the dark. EDC has its own alphabet called the “Owlphabet.”

EDC is the biggest dance music festival in the country, and this year’s line-up features hundreds of acts.

The artists span every electronic music genre you can imagine, including house, frunktronica, techno, electrogrind, vaporwave, tech house, gabber, hardstyle and bass, plus many others we didn’t have time to copy and paste from Wikipedia.

To put it simply, EDC’s 2024 line-up is everyone.

This font size is how EDC weeds out the boomers.

From established artists to obscure up-and comers, EDC has something for everyone except possibly us. It’s just really loud. The eye candy helps, but we aren’t really the EDC demographic.

Here’s a handy way to see if EDC is for you. If you enjoy this, it’s for you. If you don’t, maybe skip it.

Anyway, tons of names! There’s Martin Garrix, Eric Prydz, Zedd, Alison Wonderland, Kaskade, John Summit, Dom Dolla, Deadmau5, Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Illenium, David Guetta, Peggy Gou, Seven Lions, Excision, Sub Focus, Tiesto, Dillon Francis, Carl Cox, Valentino Khan, Seven Lions, Steve Aoki, Paul van Dyk, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake and a gajillion others.

EDC swallows Las Vegas whole for several days. EDC organizers say 520,000 people attended in 2023. It’s more accurate to say that’s how many tickets were sold for the three-day event, rather than individual people, but still, it’s a lot of people.

EDC is great for hotel room rates, not so great for liquor sales (the kids don’t drink alcohol because it may cause a reaction with other substances), casino revenue (the kids don’t gamble) and competing entertainment (show ticket sales nosedive during EDC).

We love EDC personally because it’s not sports. EDC doesn’t disrupt traffic (except to and from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the cool kids take helicopters), it doesn’t block iconic landmarks like the Bellagio fountains, it doesn’t ask for taxpayer money and it cleans up after itself.

Get more details about EDC at the official Web site. Note: The tickets aren’t cheap, but there’s a layaway option. We are not making this up. Tickets to Woodstock were $18 in advance, $24 at the gate.
