James Cleverly was forced to run for cover as the city he was visiting in Israel came under rocket fire. 

The UK Foreign Secretary took refuge in a nearby building as sirens warned of incoming Hamas shelling. 

Cleverly was visiting Ofakim in southern Israel when the alarm was raised, a video posted on social media shows.

It comes after Benjamin Netanyahu announced the formation of an “emergency government” with an opposition party leader for the duration of the ongoing war.

The Israeli prime minister’s agreement with Benny Gantz will lead to the creation of a five-member “war-management”.
