On Monday (January 29), the military arm of the Palestinian group Hamas released an edited video showcasing intense street fighting in Gaza’s Khan Younis. The footage depicts fighters armed with shoulder-mounted weapons engaging battle tanks. Reuters has not been able to independently confirm the location or the filming date.

Earlier the same day, the Israeli army reported that its forces had eliminated numerous Palestinian gunmen across the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, including four individuals preparing to ambush troops near Al-Amal hospital in southern Khan Younis.

Both Hamas’ armed wing and the Islamic Jihad asserted that their fighters clashed with Israeli troops in various areas across the enclave overnight. The armed wing of Hamas claimed responsibility for destroying two Israeli tanks in Khan Younis.
